Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York

auto bill of sale

Have a signed contract from car dealer. He called and said the owner does not want to honor the price, it should have been higher. He altered his copies of the agreement. Mine is the original.

Re: auto bill of sale

Changing the terms of a contract after both parties have signed is not permitted. From the limited facts you have provided, you would have the option of enforcing the original price or canceling the contract. Also, New York State General Business Law sec. 396-p provides that the price in the contract is the final price. This applies to new vehicles only. Please contact my office directly if you would like to discuss further.
