Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York

Hello, I have created a small hardware device for scientific purposes, but it may damage one's computer easily. I would like to sell it to hardware developers, but if someone has bad intentions he might use it against other people and damage their electronics. I would like to find out how may I protect my company and myself against possible lawsuits from the people who had their electronics damaged.

You cannot escape total unaccountability, but generally speaking you can significantly minimize your exposure through a series of carefully drafted notices that would be included with the product, a detailed manual of operations, a purchase contract the customer would have to enter into and where the customer would assume responsibility and indemnify you and by obtaining relevant business insurance.
