Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

bad debt

Hello,

My question I now live in Virginia but I have outstanding debt in new york state. How many years after the debt can you be helf liabil for the debt. Is there a time period where you are no longer required to pay on the debt. MOst of my debt is old Doctor bill or credit cards. The debt is at least 7-10 years old.

Re: bad debt

The NYS statute of limiations for breach of contract at most is 6 years form the breach. If you have not been sued you should be in good shape.
