can social security be seized for a credit card debt

Re: collections

Social security payments are exempt from seizure by creditors. If a bank account containing social security payments is frozen, the creditor must release the account upon presentation of proof of the source of the funds. If the account contains both social security and other funds, then only the social security funds are exempt.
