Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Garnishment

I had a car loan that has a judgement against it. My co-signer's wages are now being garnished. Can the company garnish my wages as well?

Re: Garnishment

Yes, until the final amount is paid. You are both jointly and individually responsible for the debt.

Re: Garnishment

The short answer to your question is ABSOLUTELY! - your wages can be garnished, however the major question is who was the primary signator? if your cosignor was then so long as payment isbeing received through that person the likelyhoodof the bank going after you is not very great... however, feel free to contact my office regarding this or any other matter #2127098303
