my mother won a settlement and my sister wants some of the money she says was promised I offered to help her out she owes me 10000 but has not pais a some in over 2 years now she wants to sue me for a promise my mother gifted the money to me for educational expenses can she sue me she also secretly recorded our conversations face to face conversations without my consent or knowledge

She can sue but she should not win. She has no rights in your mother's money or yours. She sounds like a real charmer. My answer in a case like this is simple: "Sue me? Do it, I'll meet you there, and then all the good stuff will come out."

THis is especially effective if she has no idea what stuff you might know about her.
