Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

What are my options

Stupidly i co-signed an auto loan for someone who i no long speak with. I have asked that he either sell the car or get a new loan co-signed by someone else to get my name off. He swore to me that it would be paid on time.

Every month i call and it has yet to be paid by the due date. I don't think it fair that i need to go through this every month is there any legal action i can take to force him to either refinance or sell so that my name comes off and my credit won't get hurt if he defaults?

Re: What are my options

You have none. There is nothing that I can think of that has any force of law to make your ex-friend sell the car or refinance.

Sorry.
