Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

false arrest

What kind of court do I go to, to sue the parents of some children who made false statements to the police, which led to my two sons being arrested, without even being questioned by police? I want to sue them for defamation of character, lost wages for both myself and my husband, pain and suffering for my whole family (of 6), and lawyer fees.

How do I go about suing these people?

Re: false arrest

You need to retain a lawyer to commence an action for false arrest and malicious prosecution. Depending on what happened, the police and City could also be part of your lawsuit. My office handles these cases on a contingency basis. Please feel free to call me at 212-622-7180 if you want to discuss your case.
