Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Hello, I was issued a ticket for public urination under 16-118 (6) in Brooklyn, NY last night and I am wondering if I should pay the fine and be done with it or hire a lawyer and go to court.

I am a New Zealander who is about to be married and apply for leave to work and eventually a green card. Will this affect my application?

As a general rule, these summonses are amended to administrative violations if you appear in court (346 broadway in Manhattan). If you have a medical condition (with proof), you should be able to get the matter dismissed.

Hope this helps.

Both prior answers are correct. With proper medical proof the violation will be dismissed. If you are concerned about a conviction most will be generally plea bargained to a violation with no affect upon your work, marriage or immigration status. I , too , handle these matters on a regular basis. I charge a reasonable fee. You may contact my office @ 7188340087 for a free phone consultation.
