Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

police searched my house this year but when the went they presented to grand jury for a indictment it was for a crime that was done 3 years ago not this year why they came in my house and searched and took my stuff. I live in Plattsburgh NY istn there a statue of limitations for it being 3 years ago should I get I lawyer for me my husband has a lawyer because they arrested him for the crime

Are you being investigated for a crime? If so, you should get a lawyer.

The Court has possession of items subpoenaed for a grand jury, not the DA's office. The Court is required to direct the DA's office to return your stuff to you once the DA's office no longer needs it for presenting at the grand jury.
