Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Unlawful possession of marijuana

Me (man 24 years old) and 2 my girlfriends (19 and 20 yo) were smoking marijuana in parking lot in my car in Queens (NY) at a forest park. When we done it police drove into the parking lot without any lights. I had to open door and they smelt it. They told us to sit on metal fence and dont even move. That was very cold around 36F. They were searching my car very well without my permission and found on the floor left over of marijuana cigarette. In 30 min later we were shaking like crazy of cold. One girl couldnt take that cold and she was going to their car to ask to sit in my car. They told her go back and sit on the fence. In next 15 min one of them gave each of us 2 tickets: Unlawful possession of marijuana and for being in the park after 9pm.

Im from another country (Russia, Moscow) and living in Queens for 3 years and I have green card, social security number, job in medical office for 1 year, now I signed contract for another 2 years. I'm paying taxes as well.

Pleas tell me what should I expect? How serious is this and do I need a lawyer?

Should I do something about holding us on cold for so long tome and sitting on metal fence (thats very bad for your health)?

They didnt ask my permission to search my car
