Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York

dating a minor

I was wondering who i would contact to make a complaint about a 18 year old man dating a having sexual relations with a 15 year old girl. I'm not sure whether they are actually having sex but they are on the verge of having sex if they aren't already. Their relationship is open and she goes to his place of employment and even his manager knows he's dating this minor. I have children of my own and I don't condome this and the parents aren't doing anything about it so I was wondering what I could do and how I would go about doing it.

Re: dating a minor

There's nothing illegal about an adult dating a minor. If they have sexual relations and the minor is 15 years old this is statutory rape and. conceivably, anyone can make a complaint. However, if a stranger is making the complaint, the District Attorney's office is going to insist upon proof to even consider a criminal oomplaint. If the parents aren't objecting, the DA will want to know why are you?
