Alcoholic Beverage Social Hosts Liability

Please cite Laws or Court Cases holding Alcoholic Beverage Social Hosts liable when someone who drank at their home party is involved in an auto accident after leaving.

These are called the 'dram shop laws' and pertain largely to commercial servers of alchohol.

As a private person, it is your responsibility to notice whether a guest is intoxicated and intending to drive a vehicle. Your resposibility is to discourage such driving.

I have not reviewed this law recently and may be incorrect. It is possible you will be chrged as an accessary to any offense (vehicular manslaughter, etc) that the drunkard is charged with.
