Legal Question in Family Law in New York

attorney client confidentiality

I want to have my partner be present when I discuss an issue with my attorney concerning a previous marriage. My partner is thoroughly familiar with the issues I will be raising with my attorney. My partner and I are not married, but have been together many years in a long term committed relationship. Does having my partner present in some way jeopardize attorney/client confidentiality?

Re: attorney client confidentiality

Yes (unless "partner" means something other than what it appears.)

Having an unrelated third party present destroys attorney client confidentiality.
