Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My ex ignored the divorce papers and so I was granted a divorce by default. I was awarded custody, child support and the house. My ex was served with the default papers and has a year to appeal. It's a year now and my ex has done nothing. What happens next? What should I expect? What can I do for this to be finally over with?

Get a lawyer-this is a minefield, and kids are involved, not to mention a home. Sure, the ex did nothing and ignored his/her own kids BUT you just never know...there is a maze and minefield of procedural plays here best handled by an attorney, with Motion Practice, plus the lives these kids know, the kids' home, and so much more. Get it done ASAP and do not assume it will just work itself out now that a year has passed.
