Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Hello, A family member is going through a divorce with his wife(which she agreed to) she has men over the house ,likes to twist things around to make him the bad guy,neglects the kids at times and I suspect she has abused her children a few times. Is it legal for the husband to have hidden cameras installed with audio for his case against her? thank you
