Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Is it legal to have in a divorce decree that says the divorce decree be Irrevocable and Final? Can things change in life that may have to be adjusted? I am talking about a 46 1/2 years marriage.

Any changes that occur after the Judgment of Divorce would occur if there is a significant change in the parties' circumstances. The change must be significant and unexpected.

For example, if one party who is fully employed is paying the other spousal maintenance, and that party suffers a serious injury that prevents them from working, the court may adjust the amount of spousal maintenance payable.
