Legal Question in Family Law in New York

i married my husband in 2001. two months later i found out he has a wife in philadelphia,, i live in new york.. he refuses to talk and he refuses to divorce.. i had paid for everying pertaining to the wedding. with the promise of him getting a settlement.. of course all to no avail.. he's now back in philly..

First, your marriage is void and a divorce is not the appropriate method for the relief you seek, you want the marriage either expunged or annulled and that is not a problem with the right documentation.

Second, you may also be able to bring a civil action for recovery of some of the money you spent. You should consult with an attorney in person to discuss this matter as soon as possible.
