Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am not married to the man I have been living with for the last 9 years. We bought a house but it is under my name. I have asked and told him many a time to please leave there is nothing here for you to stay for. He has been not working for almost a year now, and sat around for the last months doing nothing. I finally got him out, tonight he walked in without knocking or calling and when I asked for the house key, his reply was that he wont give it and he still lives here. He has all his belongings in his new residence. Do I have the right to change my locks.

If you change the locks, you may get in trouble with the local police, if your former boyfriend can show proof of residence, i.e. driver's license. You may want to consider getting an Order of Protection, either by going to the local Police Department or Family Court.
