Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I was recently asked by my wife to leave my apartment that I currently pay for. She is the main person on the lease. She told me to leave and to take all of my belongings....so I have adhered to her wishes and have left and taken all of my belonging.....my question is she later calls me and tells me that I have to pay the rent and the cable and all the utilities. If I dont she threatened take me to court for abandonment.

I am not familiar with my rights but she asked me to leave I did not want to......so what are my legal rights.....I depleted all of my funds moving out and now I stay with my little brother in his one bedroom apartment and sleep on the floor....I cant afford a lawyer as I make little money 28k :(........can my wife take me to court and peg me for abandonment when I was asked by her to leave....Im really hurting here as many are telling me not to give her a dime.....but is that the right thing to do.....I will be left without any money for myself if I pay for the rent and utilities as Im also paying my little bro for housing me here. Please I need help with this. Also my wife receives social security monthly she also gets food stamps and works in a bar three days a week off the books. We have been married for 6 years and getting a divorcewhat do I do!!!! I live in Brooklyn NY.
