Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Property damaage/loss

My mom bought a 2006 toyota corolla in 4/06 for me. everything is under her name. The night of november 11 i went out with some friends and gave my keys to one of them to hold because i had on tight jeans and didnt want to carry them in my hands because i didnt want to loose them. he voluntarily gave my key to his friend and his friend took my car with out my permission and crashed it. he agreed he would help me with giving me some money in return for doing what he did. here it is a month later and i have not heard fom him. can i sue him and his friend for this even if the car is under my moms name?

Re: Property damaage/loss

Your mother, as the owner/registrant of the vehicle would be the one to file suit. You, of course, would be the main witness. Good luck!
