Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

i just sold an apt building in nyc and now the new owner is saying that his architect said there are violations on the building do to work that was done to the apts. am i liable if i did not know about the building codes.

Questions as to whether any of the seller's obligations survive the closing can be determined by reviewing the contract of sale. If those obligations do in fact survive the closing of title, the fact that you were unaware of the regulations imposed by law will probably offer little solace.

I assume that you had an attorney represent you on the sale of the building. If so, your questions should be directed to that attorney.
