Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Vehicle Title.

In 06 I asked my then boyfriend if he could put me on his insurance policy for a few months. He agreed but only if his name was on the title. We've since broken up and the title for the vehicle is in his possesion and still in his name. I've had it insured in my name for about a year. He's now holding the title over my head and wants me to pay for bill(s) in his name or I won't be seeing my title. What the heck do I do now? Also he's sending me harrassing emails at work...

Re: Vehicle Title.

It would be ideal if you had something in writing detailing what the agreement was - for example that he would put the title in his name solely for the purpose of placing you on his insurance. Short of having that type of proof, does he mention in the emails to you that he would give you back the title if you pay his bills?

If you feel as though he is harassing you, then you should make the police aware of the email contact.
