Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

My I-130 petition was approved by the USCIS and subsequently i received a letter from the Nation Visa Center (NVC) assigning me a case number and invoice number to begin visa processing legal permanent residency. Unfortunately, i have overstayed my original visitor's visa, which i used to enter the US, and am curious to know if I can have my status adjusted here in the US using form I-485 ?

It depends on your age when your visa expired & who petitioned you, but probably not, & you may also face a bar to re-entry. You should have an immigration attorney review the details of your case before you file or leave the country.
