Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

Mixing to products on market to make a new product

I want to mix two products on the market now to make an original product. What steps should I take to ensure this mix is legal or can be protected by a patent or copyright the name of it. I know it needs to be ''nonobvious'' but how do I determine if it is non obvious or not. Thank you

Obviousness is a complex concept in patent law, and it is one that the courts continually revisit. Also, obviousness is not the only barrier to patentability. You need to contact a patent attorney to discuss your specific invention and get a professional, written opinion as to its patentability.

You're welcome to contact my office to set up an appointment; I regularly write patentability opinions.
