Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

Do I Have Rights To My Voice and Knowledge?

I am a consultant currently bieng paid w/o contract by a coaching company that initially hired me to perform Finance and Operations duties.

I created a new idea for a Internet Marketing Coaching program & I was promised to be additionally compensated when the idea was a success.

Since then it has grossed over $1 million in 3.5 months and now I am near bieng ''relieved of my services'' Since asking about my fair compensation.

My requests for compensation in writing have been ignored since AND my ''voice and materials'' are being used online to train the students in this program online via videos. What are my rights?

I am an online personality and now quite concerned about my reputation with such a company.

It sounds like you may have a copyright claim, but there are many variables that have to be addressed before you know where you stand. You should consult with an attorney with an understanding of intellectual property laws. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

You ask interesting questions.

Your matter is way too complex to deal with effectively in this forum. You desperately need to talk -- "talk" means phone or face-to-face conversation, not email or postings on a public site -- with an intellectual property attorney; you may very well have rights that are in jeopardy in the situation you describe.

Please contact me offline soon to discuss your case.

Best regards, Nancy Delain
