boss screwing me over overtime

Hello I am an election and my boss had recently decided to extend my work day by half hour because he fells since we are still on the clock for the 30 min lunch and there are days we work through lunch that we should work the extra half hour and not get paid overtime at the end of the week when we go over 40 hours is this legal
