exempt/nonexempt status

Please explain the difference between the two classifications. Do the hours(40) need to be worked Mon. thru Sun for non-exempt?

The "exempt" classification applies to supervisors and various types of highly paid workers who are exempt under the FLSA from receiving overtime. The stautute has the list of workers.

Generally speaking, all employees are entitled to time and one half for any time over 40 hours worked in a week.

The week can be any 40 hours.
