Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Sexual Harassment

I am a female trader working in NY. My work place is very male domintated. There are less than 5 female traders out of 75 traders at the firm.

One day, I left the work early, and I learned that the owner took everyone to a strip bar after work as a company treat. There was one female who joined them to the strip bar. I learned that they went to strip bar the next day by overhearing co-workers.

I would like to know if I could still sue them for sexual harassment even though I was not present at the time because going to the strip bar was a company event. Also, I do not work at the place any more. The incident happened about a couple months ago, and I resigned from the firm a month ago.

Please let me know.... Thank you very very much for your time and consideration.

Re: Sexual Harassment

I haven't heard of exactly your type of situation before. That said, I do not see why you would not have a case. If part of the company's benefits is to place a woman in an uncomfortable situation, it seems that you would fall within the ambit of the anti-discrimination statute. Did you quit your job over this or another act of discrimination?
