Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

signing bonus

Is it legal for a company to sway employees who belong to a union by giving them a monitary signing bonus that has a deadline? If they don't sign the contract within the time stipulated by the company, they lose the bonus altogether.

Re: signing bonus

Generally it would be legal to set a deadline for acceptance, but in a union setting this is a matter that is subject to collective bargaining. It may be an issue to bring up to your union representative.
