Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

homeless person standing against so called homeless organization

I live in a shelter, but not listed as a shelter, but a church, they are not allowed to charge rent for a room, but they do, plus you have to give your food stamps towards the house food, even if you don't like or eat the food brought, you also are told you have to work 6 hours a day,and they try to tell you who you can or can not have visit you,and the presit try's to come between a mother and her son, when even paying rent, you can be put out and not get food money or part of the rent back, today you pay rent, the next day you are told to leave,I've been here for one year and 2 1/2 year now, and he'll lie and want others in the house to side with him or he'll throw them out to. He has done things like throw you out with no where to go, this place is nonprofit and say the help the homeless instead the help to creat homeless,is it legal to throw a person out for no reason, rules have not been broken, he spends his time putting people down, when he is so called here to help you, he dose more harm then good.

Have you made a complaint to social services?

Yes, a Shelter can "kick you out."

Also, I am curious as to where/how you have access to a computer and the internet. Perhaps you could use it to find employment (or better employment) so you can get out of there.
