Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

uninsured homeowner

hello. my home did not have homeowners insurance at the time a tenant's friend decided to fix my unworking furnace in the basement. Both the tenant knew and the friend new that a new furnace was being delivered in 3 days. he tried to fix the old furnace and this caused a gas explosion which gave him second degree burns. now he is suing me for something he had no right to do. please advise.thanks

Re: uninsured homeowner

Too many issues to address on a free board. Issues include whether you gave them consent to fix it, the heat laws in your area, criminal trespass, vandalism and others, not to mention the "history" behind this entire event.

If you have been served with court papers, get them to a qualified litigation attorney immediately.
