c-section/hysterectomy

i had a c-section/hysterectomy...according to the Dr's i was bleeding alot and had to remove my uterus.to what i was told i was still bleeding after the hysterectomy. The Doctor had to call for another Doctor to come and finish my hysterectomy[Doctor took 20 minutes to get there]..i lost so much blood i need 5 pints of blood....so doctor gets there and had to remove the opening of my cervix and bleeding stopped. i was intubated and sent to ICU.now while removing the uterus doctors claims that maybe they cut, stitched or my urethra tube got swollen..so now i have a tube on my side draining out urine, recently got surgery to repair the damage and a yr later still have the draining tube on my side.

You present an unusual medical situation which merits examination. The only way to the clearest, complete picture is to get hold of all medical records and hospital charts. Your signatures on medical authorizations would, of course, be required to write for the records. You should consult with a lawyer, and not delay. VTY, Michael E. Zuller

Re: c-section/hysterectomy

I am not sure if that is malpractice but it seems very unusual. I have handled birth trauma cases and never heard of that outcome. Perhaps, you are the victim of medical negligence or gross incompetence. I would be more than happy to review your file. Please contact me and let's discuss your case further.

Re: c-section/hysterectomy

I ran your case by my partner who handles gyn complications. He says the following: the possible negligence would be (1) when did they suspect/discover the injured urethra, (2) how long did it take to get around to repairing it and (3) whether or not the surgical intervention and post-op treatment, testing and monitoring was proper. 1 year later with a drainage tube is outside the box; appears that something happened that should not have complicating the matter and causing you to still have to be tubed/bagged.

I suggest that you contact me and we can set up a meeting. Please obtain as many medical reports as you can. If you do not have the medical reports, I can request the reports for you.

You may have a viable malpractice case.
