Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Taking arm of teenager

I am a parent in charge of 5 teens at a bowling party at midnight. Two of the teens insisted they were not leaving with me and i took one of them by the arm and explained that i needed to speak with their mother in order for them to be picked up by a sister. Now i'm am being labeled a child abuser and want to know what i can do or what kind of trouble i'm in?

UGH!! I am sorry you are going through this.

First, if you really want safety, hire a good lawyer who knows his way around Child Protective Services and the courts.

Your trouble could be criminal (disorderly conduct, harassment, to assault 3*) or could be in Family court (less likely) CPS could even come for your own kids. It is unlikely but it could happen hence the need to consult a lawyer who knows his stuff and takes it seriously.

The amount of trouble you are in will be inversely proportionate to the fear your lawyer strikes in the heart of CPS.

Good Luck.
