Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Hello my ex's house is in foreclosure we do not live together. He asked me if i could put the deed in my name. He said his lawyer said if he puts it in someones name other than himself it would stall the foreclosure proceedings. My question is if i help him and put my name on the deed .. Could that ruin my medicaid eligibility for myself and my son? Please help

It will stall nothing as the conveyance would be considered a fraudulent transaction to avoid creditors. Putting the asset in your name may affect your Medicaid eligibility.
