Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I'm doing a refinancing in NYC, closing with a CEMA. My mortgage broker recommended an attorney with a flat fee which includes CEMA processing. I was wondering what is a reasonable rate?

Impossible to tell, but your mortgage broker is of dubious intelligence. There is no reason for the presence of a CEMA to increase the lawyer's fee. You and your broker are preoccupied with the price of the services rather than their quality. Lotsa luck on this one. You can probably find an incompetent who will charge you less than $500. You get what you pay for.
