Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Trespassers on co-op rooftop

The roof of our cooperative is owned by two shareholders who live on the top floor. There have been trespassers who have been ''hanging out'' on the roof that are coming from the building next door. We have placed no trespassing signs and are soliciting the help of the city. However, is there a way we can enlist the building next door to cooperate with us and ask their tenants not to ''explore'' our rooftop? They are not a coop but a rental building. Other than catching them there which has proven unsuccessful, any suggestions within the law?

Re: Trespassers on co-op rooftop

Since the building is a rental building it is owned by an individual(s). Put them (OWNER) on notice IN WRITING and if they do not do anything about the problem, bring an action in trespass and for nuisance against the building owner(s).
