Income Tax

My husband and I are in the middle of a nasty divorce, and we own a house together.

Is it allowed for us to split the mortgage interest for our taxes? We were together in 2008 and we both contributed to the monthly mgt. payment.

You can split the interest deduction and the real estate tax deduction in proportion to your respective contributions to the payment of each item.
