Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

Hello, I'm sure this is a common question so I'd really appreciate any advice. I got a tint violation by NYPD in Bayside, Queens. The officer used the tint meter on my front window, and determined the tint was less than 70. He never cleaned the window, which I heard could affect the tint reading (though in fairness the tint is definitely less than 70). I bought the car used from an auto dealership in NYC last year, and the tints came with it. This is the first time I've been pulled over for the tints and in honesty I was never aware of the law. If I plead not guilty and have the tints removed and documented by a tint specialist, would/could the courts dismiss my ticket? Or is it best I just bite the bullet, pay the fine and still remove it? Thank you.

Unfortunately none of the judges at queens north tvb will dismiss the summons, even if the tint was removed. However, having the tints removed will affect the fine amount.
