Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

I got a ticket for driving a car with a suspended registration due to a lapse in insurance. When I went to court they used words like arraignment, with made me nervous, so I asked for time to seek legal counsel. What are my options?

Driving with a suspended registration is a criminal charge in New York (misdemeanor). You therefore were wise to re-schedule your case to seek counsel. Your prospects to obtain a successful resolution depend on a few variables including the length of your lapse, your past record (if any), etc. Feel free to call us to discuss further.

The prior answer is mostly correct. The charge of suspended registration is in fact a misdemeanor. An insurance lapse will trigger such an action ,therefore should that be the case , you have NO defenses. A savvy criminal defense attorney can best assess your possibilities.
