Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

I own a co-op apt. in NYC. It's occupied w/tenant. I live in Westchester County, NY. I have a revocable trust but coop will not allow me to put coop in trust. I have adult child. What is probate procedure in NYC, how long does it take, will an attorney be needed, do proceeds go into trust or given to children once settled. My main concern is How long is probate , I hear it's a nightmare in NYC is this true??
