Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Estate of Biological Father

My son was adopted by my current husband when he was 8 years old. He is now 26. His biological father recently passed away without a will. Is my son entitled to any of his estate. My son still had a relationship with his bioligical father's family (grandparents, etc.) He was not married and had no other children. Please advice. Thanks.

Re: Estate of Biological Father

Generally, your son cannot inherit from the estate of his biological father. There are a few exceptions, such as when one of the adoptive parent is related to the biological father.
