Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

estate

My mother died and my personal possessions were still in the home. I had been thrown out and only allowed to take the few items she would release. I have the receipts for the furnishings I had purchased while I lived there until I was 41. Even though my siblings know the 'stuff' is mine, they removed it from the home since her will stated they inherited all of her worldly possessions. With receipts, can I get my 'stuff' back? (diningroom set, stove, lamp, couch....)

Re: estate

If you have receipts, file a claim with the representative. Anticipate counterclaims alleging possible gifts to Mom, no rent paid, etc. You do not say why you were cut from the Will, so this may be raised also. Good Luck.
