In addition to our home we have a small Florida lot. We are interested in setting up a trust. What will we have to do to put the FL property in the trust?

Speak to a good real estate broker in Florida and inquire about a so-called snowbird trust.

Norman gives some advice. Also, you just probably need a Deed from you to the trust. The type of trust you should use depends upon what you are trying to accomplish with it - just avoiding probate, estate planning, etc. If you need help with the trust, contact me directly.
