Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

back injury

I had a work related back injury they are ofering me a lump sum settlement if i accepted I will loose the medical benefits. my concern is if i got any problems in the future that need medical care will my regular medical insurence cover it or will the be able to dennied & make me pay for any medical procedure?

I strongly suggest that you do NOT accept any settlement without the help of an attorney. As Mr. Kessler said, you could be giving up future rights by signing such a legal document.

Yes. Once you sign the lump sum settlement you will be giving up your rights to future medical care. If you have an attorney, I would contact him/her and discuss this with them.
