Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

Unjust work conditions

I was telling my managers all day that i had to leave early because of the snow storm. They kept brushing me off and telling me that dont worry about it. I was trying to leave since 5:00 but my shift ends at 10:30 since i was working in west nyack and live in the bronx. At 10:00 I left and my car slid off the road when I got to the inner streets by my house. It was not plowed or salted at all and my car jumped the curb and had damage to my front end. Is there anyone I can sue or get compensation from whether it be my job at best buy or the city?

Re: Unjust work conditions

Looking to your emplyer for compensation may be 'pushing the envelope', but you may have an action depending on what kind of work you do. If your work is critical to a critical (involving threats to physical harm of clients and other persons) then you have no case.

On the other hand, if your work is not critical to a critical function as defined above, then clearly your employers threatened your health and safety in exactly the way that you were injured and a claim may be viable.

But this is pushing the envelope and it's a tough sell.

Thank God at least neither you nor anyone else was injured because your boss is a selfish person.
