Expungements are often worthless and not the 'cure all' people tend to think them to be. That said sometimes they are helpful so before you invest, first, check and see if an expungement is even worth your time and money. Here's why - even if you get the criminal record expunged, there will likely still be an arrest record which is often just as bad as having a criminal record. Further, applications and licensing boards often specifically ask if you have had any criminal charges expunged, so you'll likely still have to disclose the conviction(s) anyway. If it turns out an expungement will help you, there are a lot of hoops and eligibility requirements (too numerous to go over in a forum like this) you will have to jump through so you will have to consult with a local attorney.to determine if you are eligible.
