Legal Question in Immigration Law in North Carolina

Adjustment of status-green card

Hello,

I came to USA on J-1 visa. Later, I changed it to F-1. After graduation I received my OPT, which is valid till November 2007. I got married to U.S. citizen in February 2007. What would be the best time for me to file for the adjustment of status in order to get a green card for 10 yrs, not the conditional green card? Should I file now, or wait and file 90 days before my work permit expires, or do I have any other options? Thank you.

Re: Adjustment of status-green card

You will receive the green card (without condition) if by the time your application is approved you have been married for 2 years.

If your application is approved before your 2 years anniversary, then you will get a conditional green card.
