Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina
I have been living in this apartment for a month and two weeks. Soon after moving in I experienced insect bites. I at first thought that they were spider or ant bites but it turns out that they are bed bugs. I contacted my landlord and they are giving me the run around. What are my options? Can I break the lease under these circumstances without penalty and would I be able to recoup the cost of clothing and furniture that will obviously be lost? I live in Winston Salem NC and am in misery. I can't sleep and know that everything I have is now lost.

You can probably get out of that lease, but you need to see a lawyer and do it correctly.
