If a rental agreement does not state that pit bulls are not allowed on the property can a landlord legally evict you or force you to get rid of the dog?

Typically no, if the lease does not ban dogs, the landlord can't kick you out for having one, unless the dog has presented a health or safety issue for other tenants.
